If You Are What You Eat… What Are You?

The key to your health is not exercise or how many relaxing getaways you go on. Sure, those things are important but the source of your health comes from your gut. It is true that true beauty is not something that is external but rather something that is internal so it is too for your health.

You can be a workout junky but if you eat like crap your inside will be chunky. Seriously, it is called visceral fat and it can surround your organs. So, this means you can be skinny and still be what is called skinny fat. If you are not filling your body with food that it was designed to take in your health is sure to suffer and no amount of exercise will change it.

In this day and age it is getting more and more difficult and confusing to eat healthy, or is it? Sure, the way our food infrastructure is setup it can definitely lead to confusion but there is no need to over complicate things. There is a way to break it down and make it very simple but that does not mean it is going to be easy.

Rule #1 is to think natural. This is growing increasingly difficult in the days of genetically modified organisms. Your body was designed to eat all natural food that has not been sprayed by chemicals. Before the industrialization of our food production this was simple just called FOOD. Now, we have to look for labels such as organic and non GMO which, also means unnecessary food cost increases.

Understanding what your food is naturally suppose to eat is also imperative in eating healthy. For example… even though most beef on the market is grain fed cows are actually naturally suppose to eat grass. Eating grain actually causes the cows to be sick which leads to lower quality and less healthy meat.

After you have an understanding of what natural food actually is the easiest way to start eating healthy is to think whole foods. This means when you think meals think protein, fruit and vegetables. Keep in mind what other materials you use for cooking as well. Sure, chips come from potatoes but the kind of oil they are cooked in matters. Look for chips fried in either coconut oil or avocado oil.

Lastly, be aware of certain foods your body was not designed to take it. Believe it or not just because you have the ability to eat it does not make it food. This includes all types of processed foods but also certain animals as well. Some animals are what we call garbage animals and eat things that are toxic making their flesh toxic as well.

To get a better understanding of which animals were created as food and which ones were not you can look into biblically clean and unclean foods. Believe or not… modern science is proving that the foods in the bible listed as unclean are highly toxic and bad for your health. Unfortunately, this means no bacon but do not get down in the dumps just yet, beef bacon is a thing and in my opinion it is better than regular bacon.
